Candy Cosplay is a Facebook page made by Candace Leclercq early in 2014 to express her love of cosplay and to enjoy it with everyone else who loves the idea of it. She has been into the cosplay scene since her first convention, attending Anime North in Toronto, back in 2007. Recently she has begun to start attending conventions as a guest, and is ecstatic to be attending Hamilton Film Expo!
Jennifer Maillet has been working as a VFX artist in Feature film and Television in Toronto for the past 5 years now. She's worked on films such as Harry Potter 7 part 1, Elysium, Pompeii, Into the Woods, Journey 2 the mysterious island, Immortals and many more. Additionally She has also worked on Television Productions such as The Walking Dead, Heroes Reborn, Ray Donovan, Damien, Orphan Black, Lost Girl, Penny Dreadful, Vikings, Twelve Monkeys, Haven and many more

Covering the Expo and conducing interviews with the participants is their prime objective so clear your throats, tighten your space boots and shine up your helmets...and get ready for the Geek!
Genny / The Dirty South - The Dirty South is a gourmet BBQ mobile food truck named "Genny", styled after The General Lee! The Dirty South boys try and set themselves apart with a unique twist on comfort food, offering generous portions at a reasonable price. All of the sauces, seasonings and rubs are made from scratch, anything they can’t make themselves, they source out to local business that operate under the highest standards. They truly are bringing the deep South to you ... literally. They will be in the parking lot from noon - 5pm!
Chad Archibald / Black Fawn Films - 15 features, 100+ music videos including Megadeth, multi-award winner and the GM of Black Fawn Films, this guy believes in his work so much that you can also find him at a sewing machine when the wardrobe needs mending. His company is doing remarkable things and will be planted firmly at the HFX, and in true rock-star style, they will be on the riser at the back wall. \m/ \m/
Christopher Giroux / Black Fawn Distribution - Check for a pulse...he's alive! Don't worry, he's just living and breathing films! He's behind the scenes, lurking in the shadows, but don't let that fool you. This guy has produced features, music videos, his own film Dead All Night and even co-runs the Tottering Biped Film Festival! This Nov, he moves out of the darkness and into the light at HFX!
Craig F. Watkins (The Store / Another Man's Son ) - Craig is a diverse filmmaker, illustrator and comedian with a fearless attitude when it comes to content. He is a big part of Hamilton's filmmaking scene and when it comes to comedy, this dude can bust your gut! Check him out, and all his wares at table #11
The Spice Factory (121 Hughson St. N, Hamilton Ontario) - Not exactly a special guest but definitely special! This venue is PERFECT for the Expo's debut and it looks like something out of the movies! Likely Hamilton's only orange and purple building, The Spice Factory sets the scene for what will be an incredible day! From the parking lot to the top floor, this place will WOW you!

Derrek Peels (The Hulk / Robocop / Four Brothers / The Big Hit / Exit Wounds) - Derrek Peels has had a career in professional football (Washington Redskins / Hamilton Tiger Cats) and in front of the camera as an actor and stunt person. His stories are wonderful and he is one of the most energetic and enthusiastic actors we know. Ask him about his experience on the short film "THE STORE." A great story indeed.
Gabriel Carrer / Black Fawn Distribution - At 22 he was one of the youngest Canadian directors to have his feature film released worldwide by Lion's Gate. His own company, LateFox Pictures Inc. produced The Demolisher, a flick that turned heads at Fantasia and took home Silver Award for best Canadian feature! He has a sharp eye for creative integrity that allows him to expertly supervise BFD's creative department. Easy to spot, he's the one with the hat.
Buddy Whistleberry - His credentials are 10x longer than his last name. Cartoonist, Writer, PhoTOYgraphy, Macroscapes, Custom Converse, Puppeteer and Puppet maker, Mod Pop, Fan Art and filmmaking are among this swashbuckler's many talents. His custom ornaments are going to be a hit at table#10! Sometimes you have to look down to see this man's talent. He has made three custom Converse for Rob Paulsen, who voices Pinky from Pinky and the Brain. He has also created Animaniacs shoes for Jess Harnell (Wakko Warner) and Tress MacNeille (Dot Warner, The Simpsons, etc), and Maurice LaMarche (The Brain from Pinky and The Brain).
Steve Parton / Avalon Music Academy - Steve Parton / Avalon Music Academy - It would be easier to list the things this guy doesn't do. He has written music for the animated show "For Better or For Worse," supplied Cheaper By The Dozen 2 with musicians, runs a movie making camp for kids, authored a book and makes movies. Oh, and in his spare time he runs the Avalon Music Academy year round. From his un-expected ride with Mark Hamill to his recent Californian desert rash, this guy has stories! Ask him at Table #2
Stephen Hayes / Amarcord Productions - When he isn't chowing down on his brother's chili, this film buff, who has worked on Saw, La Femme Nikita, and, Cinderella Man, promotes his feature film LUCKY 7, travels to film festivals and is a juror for the Hamilton Film Festival. He is the host of the SOUNDTRACK at 93.3 CFMU-FM. He is currently collaborating on a pitch for a neo-noir 8 part series called: Fallen Angels. Check out Lucky7 on DVD at table #7 and be drawn in by his deep radio voice!
Nathan Fleet / Hamilton Film Festival / Hamilton Film Expo - Shameless self promotion? You betcha! His contribution to cinema is a guy who plays an imaginary guitar with his...just watch it. With a movie good enough for Comic-Con in San Diego and hundreds of movie cues under his belt, this long-hair also runs a film fest, an expo, and will be sweating his pants off the week of Nov 2 - 8th. There is no table #24 so to catch a word with this one, just look around. He's right behind you!!
All you need to do is smell this guy and you will love him. We mean, smell his locally roasted coffee! Have no fear when you arrive early at the Expo. Jason has got covered!

Tim Dashwood / 11 Motion Pictures Limited - Here is the scoop. He's worked on Pacific Rim, Kick-Ass, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World & Darknet. He's worked with an Academy Award winner, runs Dashwood Cinema Solutions and STILL manages to find time shoot music videos and give workshops in the Hammer. He's one of those tech-types so you may also find him building his own guitar amps!! Dare you to mention tech specs to this guy...dare you!! He'll be at a booth with Fan Film X.
Laura Walker / Hamilton Film Expo / Digital Canaries - This Wonder Woman has worked in distribution and has been administering on the Hamilton film scene for almost 5 years! She's behind the scenes but front and centre at media events all over town. If that wasn't enough, she's joined the team at Digital Canaries, the biggest shooting facility in Hamilton...and it's growing! You won't see this one sitting at a table either but if you want to be the "go-to" on the film scene, have your business card ready and surrender it to LW, A.K.A. Laura The Connector!
Staircase Cafe Theatre - The home of the Hamilton Film Festival, and to hundreds of events year-round, this place has been a champion of the arts upon opening it's doors.
